Users around the world are reporting problems with Facebook Messenger

Facebook Messenger was seemingly down Tuesday morning, according to Fortune, with scores of users encountering the phrase "chat is currently unavailable."

Fortune on Tuesday reported that the issue seemingly impacted users around the globe, with thousands of people reporting the problem to Down Detector, a website that logs reports of online service failures.

The website also had received 510 comments about the issue, with many postings noting difficulty and others offering up potential solutions.

"Messages won't send and I can't receive messages either," one person wrote. "Just a blank screen."

"None of my conversations can be seen and no previous messages are loading, just a blank screen," another added.

"Back on my phone now but desktop still down," a third person wrote.
