Eight-year-old Cameron Scott is receiving worldwide attention after beating brain cancer while he was a patient at St. Jude.
Scott, who was suffering from medulloblastoma, was featured on "The Today Show"after his heroic bout.
This form of cancer starts at the base of your skull and affects between 250 and 500 children in the United States, according to St. Jude's.
As a celebration of being cancer free, Scott and his family were given a mini-vacation to Legoland Florida Resort in Winter Haven, Fla.
His mother tells "The Today Show" that Scott's battle was "like an out of body experience." He fell down stairs and experienced back pain last year which led him to the hospital.
"They initially showed us the back and his spine, and the doctor looking at the pictures turned to the other doctors and said, 'I need another MRI. I need you to scan upward," Tamika Scott said.
Thankfully, the six months of chemotherapy and radiation were financially covered by St. Jude.
Many people on social media were inspired by Scott's story including rapper Common who simply tweeted, "inspiring."
Scott's father says, "he's my hero."
