I can't be the only person picturing Paris Hilton and Britney Spears as Romy & Michelle...
and the entire internet, who has been calling BS on that claim, as Janeane Garofalo in this whole "We invented the selfie" ridiculousness, right?
Here's Paris' tweet. (For the record, I'm mostly sure Paris is joking. But, isn't it mildly amusing to pretend she's not?)
That tweet did make a whole bunch of folks belly up to their nearest search bar and order something they were probably pretty certain they'd never order again. Seriously, when was the last time you typed the words "Paris" and "Hilton" next to each other when not genuinely looking for European lodging?
Even though it's not my place to do so, I'd like to offer an apology to Robert Cornelius, the long dead and most probable selfie starter.
And, while we're at it, let me throw Art Fry of 3M a great big apology for my headline.
Let's go fold scarves.
