A group of pro-family leaders on Thursday voiced support for Roy Moore amid the latest sexual misconduct allegations leveled against the GOP Alabama Senate candidate.
The coalition attended a press conference in Birmingham, Alabama hosted by Faith2Action President Janet Porter and Dr. Steven Hotze, CEO of Restore Our Godly Heritage PAC.
The event presented a letter to the media signed by pro-family leaders and pastors from across the nation expressing commitment to him amid the accusations.
"We stand with Judge Roy Moore, a man of integrity who has never wavered from his valiant defense of the unborn, the Ten Commandments, and the Constitution," the letter reads.
"We are confident the voters of Alabama will not be fooled by suspicously timed accusations without evidence and will reject the politics of personal destruction led by the Washington Post," the message adds.
"If the media lynch mob and establishment politicians are allowed to ambush Judge Roy Moore, then they will destroy anyone who gets in their way. We stand with Roy Moore."
Multiple women have accused Moore of making sexual advances on them since the Post published a report about him last week.
The Post reported that one Alabama woman claimed that Moore initiated a sexual encounter with her when she was 14 and he was 32.
The newspaper's account also include three other women who said Moore exhibited similar behavior around them when they were between 16 and 18 years old.
Moore has fiercely denied the allegations, which have overshadowed his race against Democrat Doug Jones for a vacant Senate seat ahead of Alabama's Dec. 12 special election.
