It's the holiday season. That means lots of food, warm fuzzy feelings, and visiting family. It also can mean an endless barrage of questions surrounding your dating life from your nosey Aunt Mae. It can be a stressful time for anyone, especially for those in serious relationships.
My mom just said to me "yanno I thought you'd be the first one bringing a significant other home for the holidays not your brother" same mom— Mrs. DJ Major (@j_cipressi) December 23, 2016
If you find yourself asking "Should I take my significant other home for the holidays? " you are not alone. It can be overwhelming. The initial meeting between your S.O. and your parents is a big deal. Family disapproval of your significant other could affect how you view your own relationship. On the flip side, if you see yourself having any sort of future with this person you most likely will have a future with their family, so let's hope you get along. Also, we've all heard the horror stories of someone bringing their new guy or girl home too soon and ruining the holidays. Yikes!
S/O to all the people bringing your significant other home for thanksgiving to meet your family...that's a big step into the adult world— Kyle Schultz (@embdenhaymaker) November 24, 2016
Or, it can be something really special and take your relationship to a whole new level. Plus nothing warms your heart more than when the people you love wind up loving each other. Happy Holiday's ya'll!
