You've been on a streak of bad diet. You haven't slept in weeks. You're stressed. You're thinking, maybe an all-natural face mask will help.
You're welcome. We found two natural, detoxifying masks you can easily make at home with stuff you can find in your pantry and tried them on to demonstrate to you what it would look like and feel like. Let's get right to it.
1. Rolled oats and yogurt (add honey if you'd like)
This combination is supposed to exfoliate and scrub your skin, obviously thanks to the texture of the oats. Yogurt is antibacterial and anti-fungal, which makes the mask effective for treating skin conditions. We thought this mask was refreshing and felt nourished afterwards.
2. Turmeric with coconut oil
Coconut oil is a very common base for many face masks and cosmetic products, so we went ahead and assumed this would be good for you. Coconut oil softens and nourishes your skin, while turmeric - aka superfood 2017 - has well-known anti-inflammatory and antioxidant components and that interesting smell. We liked it. The only downside to this mask was how the coconut oil melted almost right away on our faces and started dripping everywhere. Soon, it was all yellow (I apologize for the Coldplay reference but it was a low-hanging fruit). Plus it left a strong yellow pigment on our skin, which only came off after vigorous scrubbing, so keep that in mind. However, we felt that this mask softened and toned our skin.
If you have honey, lemon and cinnamon lying around the kitchen, you could also try these honey-based homemade masks:
