An online petition to have actor Kevin Spacey replaced by fellow performer Kevin James on Netflix’s "House of Cards" has over 28,000 signatures.
The Change.org effort had 28,431 signers as of Tuesday amid multiple allegations of sexual misconduct against Spacey. The petition was created by Australia’s Robbie Pyma last Thursday, who intends to send it to Netflix CEO Reed Hastings after it has gathered at least 35,000 signatures.
Losing a great show is hard, no matter the circumstances. However with hardship comes the opportunity for a great show to become one of the greatest television shows of all time. I think Kevin James can elevate "House of Cards" to a globally adored franchise like "Game of Thrones" and make the entire world focus on one of the most important Netflix Original series there is.
Netflix announced last Friday that it was cutting all ties with Spacey, including his role in the company’s "House of Cards" series.
Spacey has spent five seasons playing Frank Underwood on "House of Cards," earning a nomination for the best drama actor Emmy Award for each one.
“Netflix will not be involved with any further production of ‘House of Cards’ that includes Kevin Spacey,” the company said in a statement.

Netflix added that it would work with the show’s production company MRC to determine whether the series would continue without Spacey.
Actor Anthony Rapp alleged last month that Spacey made a sexual advance upon him when he 14 years old.
The story prompted several other people to come forward with similar allegations against Spacey.
CNN reported last week that eight current or former "House of Cards" workers claim that Spacey made the program’s production a “toxic” workplace.
The network’s report included one former employee who alleged that Spacey sexually assaulted him.
James currently portrays Kevin Gable, a retired New York police officer on CBS’s sitcom "Kevin Can Wait."
