With all the hype surrounding the release of the new $1000 iPhone X, Samsung drops a new ad that reminds Apple customers that those new features they are so hyped over…Samsung had it first.
The ad “Growing Up,” follows an Apple fan from when he buys his first iPhone in 2007 all the way up to 2017-- when he decides to switch to Samsung.
All of the Apple-Samsung comparisons are covered in the ad. In 2010, as the protagonist tries to take a picture his phone runs out of storage. In 2013, we see the huge screen difference between the phones. In 2016 both phones fall into water, but only the iPhone has to dry out in a bowl of rice. By 2017, the protagonist jealousy over Samsung’s cordless charger is the catalyst for switching to Samsung.
