Natasha Negovanlis and Elise Bauman Discuss Their Project Carmilla

0

It’s no secret that the face of entertainment is changing every day. Where before TV and Film where the two cornerstones of how you can get entertainment out there, today. Now, we get Carmilla — a vampire movie based on a book published before Dracula — that started off as a YouTube series and is now making its way into theaters. Carmilla was originally a cautionary tale about the dangers of being a young lady, but creators Jordan Hall and Steph Ouaknine turned it into a feminist tale with queer and non binary characters.

The actresses discuss that the series is a rare one — a professional product put on YouTube — a space not always known for series of such a high caliber. The series is an exciting and complex thing exploring a complicated relationship. It sounds so exciting to see a project so daring and experimental make it to a successful place.
