French President Emmanuel Macron’s dog Nemo has officially marked his territory inside the Élysée Palace — literally.
The Associated Press released a video of the French leader's dog peeing next to a fireplace in the middle of a meeting between Macron and his Junior Ministers.
According to the AP's translation, after the government officials heard Nemo peeing, the following conversation ensued:
Macron: “He is doing something quite exceptional."
Julien Denormandie, junior minister: “It happens often?"
Macron: "No. You have triggered a totally unusual behavior in my dog.”
Nemo was adopted in August by Macron and his wife, Brigitte, and named after Captain Nemo, the fictional hero of Jules Verne's "Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea."
