Conversations on gender continue to evolve as more events take place that forces the public to take stock in what has always been true, that gender identity is a spectrum that goes beyond just male and female. Sam Smith’s coming out this week as gender nonbinary will push this conversation further. Shira Lazar, Ryan Mitchell and special guest Camille Hyde -- an actress who you may have just seen as of the stars of Netflix’s "American Vandal" -- discussed.

Ryan Mitchell first explained the terms and what they mean -- that there may not be an official term for how Sam Smith identifies, although a good term for it may be gender nonbinary. Camille Hyde then celebrates that after a life where kids were taught that they're one gender, the evolved conversation is now nonbinding towards a set gender, and will help gender queer children and adults accepts themselves and just exist. Lovely, and it's a wonderful thing that Sam Smith is pushing the conversation forward.
