The future of sports is here—and it is super Instagrammable! With advances in technology and augmented reality continually becoming intertwined with everyone’s lives, it’s not a far leap to imagine how sports would be affected by technological advances.
“The Future of Sports” is a pop up exhibit from the mind of Nicole Pinedo, located on the 700 block of H St in Washington D.C. The exhibit encourages participation by posing as a playground for all ages.
Visitors are given 30 minutes to explore the exhibit. Each room features a different celebrated sport, different activity for engagement, and of course -- MULTIPLE photo opportunities. Pinedo designed most of the rooms herself. Each room has a different look ranging from boxing to tennis; a volleyball pit to an autograph room; a soccer arena to a basketball court.
Some other local artists got in on the design game too. The bright yellow boxing bags with black designs were done by D.C. artist Gabriel D’Elia, while the murals in the soccer room were done by Matt Corrado.
"The Future of Sports" exhibit is open through November 30th at 700 H ST. NE in Washington D.C. Tickets are $15.
