Pop icon Harry Styles appears to have been groped while performing at a concert on Saturday night, leading to a swarm of anger from fans.
The incident occurred while the former One Direction star was performing to support breast cancer awareness at the "We Can Survive" show at the Hollywood Bowl. Styles made his way to the end of the stage during one of his songs and got close to the crowd while on his knees, leading to a flurry of hands reaching for him -- one of which appeared to grab him in the crotch. Styles quickly then returned back to the band and continued the performance.
Fans responded with anger and sympathy for the star, leading to a #RespectHarry hashtag trending on social media throughout the weekend.
"Public Service Announcement: Celebrities are human beings. Harry Styles is a human being. He is not a sexual object," blogger Luke Waltham tweeted.
Styles has yet to respond to the incident, which occurred amid multiple claims of sexual harassment against Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein. The incident occurred just days after thousands shared stories of sexual harassment on social media through the #MeToo campaign.
