Lady Gaga made a surprise appearance at the hurricane relief concert

Lady Gaga gave a surprise performance at the One America Appeal concert to raise money for hurricane relief, according to our affiliate KATV.

"Sometimes life gives us a million reasons to give up, but we stick around," Gaga said before beginning her two-song set.

During the hurricane season, Lady Gaga contributed $1 million to relief efforts. She also plans to help victims suffering mental trauma after the hurricanes through her Born This Way Foundation.

The event was attended by all five former living presidents, Barack Obama, George W. Bush, Bill Clinton, George H.W. Bush and Jimmy Carter. Gaga saluted the presidents who had a front-row seat.

"Pain is such an equalizer," Lady Gaga said as she took the stage. "And in a time of catastrophe, we all put our differences aside and we come together because we need each other or we can't survive."

She performed two songs, "Million Reasons" and "The Edge of Glory."

Other artists who attended the event included country stars Lyle Lovett, Robert Early Keen, Lee Greenwood, Sam Moore, Cassadee Pope, Yolanda Adama, Stephanie Quayle and The Gatlins.
