Five ex-presidents attended a Texas hurricane relief concert

All five living former U.S. presidents attended a concert on Saturday in Texas to raise money for relief efforts from states and islands suffering the damage caused by Hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Maria.

Former president Barack Obama, Bill Clinton, Jimmy Carter, George H.W. and George W. Bush attended the "Deep From the Heart: The One America Appeal" event at Reed Arena at Texas A&M University in College Station.

President Trump issued a video message for the event. Trump applauded their efforts to raise money for Texas, Florida, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands, calling them "some of America's finest public servants."

"To Presidents Jimmy Carter, George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush and Barack Obama, Melania and I want to express our deep gratitude for your tremendous assistance," Trump says in a video message. "This wonderful effort reminds us that we truly are one nation under God, all unified by our values and our devotion to one another."

The benefit concert featured rock and country musicians such as Lady Gaga, Robert Earl Keen, Sam Moore and Yolanda Adams.

Lady Gaga tweeted a photo of her and the former presidents.

"Nothing more beautiful than everyone putting their differences aside to help humanity in the face of catastrophe," she wrote.
