President Trump criticizes congresswoman Frederica Wilson

Updated October 22, 2017 09:26 AM EDT

President Donald Trump continued to attack congresswoman Frederica Wilson on Sunday, calling her a "gift" to the Republican party.

"Wacky Congresswoman Wilson is the gift that keeps on giving for the Republican Party, a disaster for Dems," Trump wrote. "You watch her in action & vote R!"

President Donald Trump took another jab at Rep. Frederica Wilson (D-FL) on Saturday, tweeting that the “wacky” congresswoman was “killing the Democrat Party!”

“I hope the Fake News Media keeps talking about Wacky Congresswoman Wilson in that she, as a representative, is killing the Democrat Party!” Trump wrote on Twitter.

President Trump’s tweet attacking Wilson came a day after a video showed that White House chief of staff John Kelly made false claims about the congresswoman.

Kelly, who was highly critical of Wilson for listening in on President Trump's call to the widow of Sgt. La David T. Johnson, claimed on Thursday that he had been “stunned” to hear Wilson claim credit at the ceremony for securing the funding for the building. The video revealed that she did not take credit for securing the money.
