Some Green Bay Packers fans are calling for team management to sign Colin Kaepernick after star quarterback Aaron Rodgers was injured on Sunday.
A Change.org petition calling for the Packers to sign Kaepernick had more than 3,300 signatures late Monday morning.
Rodgers broke his collarbone in Sunday's loss to the Chicago Bears. Backup Brett Hundley entered the game and threw one touchdown and three interceptions.
Kaepernick, then with the San Francisco 49ers, started the national anthem protests that have since swept the NFL last year when he sat for "The Star-Spangled Banner" during a preseason game to call attention to racial injustice in the U.S.
Kaepernick has filed a grievance against the NFL, alleging that the organization "colluded to deprive [him] of employment rights in retaliation" for his role in the anthem protests.
We asked veterans how they really feel about the NFL anthem protests.
