Suspected Russian actors reportedly used Pokémon Go to meddle in the U.S. elections and inflame racial tensions within the U.S., according to CNN.

CNN reported that in July 2016, a Tumblr page linked to a Russian campaign group called "Internet Research Agency" encouraged people in support of the Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement to play the game near famous sites of police brutality.

Players of the game were told to name their characters after victims of police brutality in efforts to grow racial tensions within the U.S., according to CNN. In addition, the Tumblr post promoted a contest that promised winners Amazon gift cards, according to the report. The Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter accounts of the group have been suspended as of Friday morning.

People took to Twitter to react to the news.

Others poked fun at the CNN report.
