Ben Affleck apologized for acting 'inappropriately' toward actress Hilarie Burton

Ben Affleck apologized Wednesday for acting "inappropriately" toward actress Hilarie Burton.

Actress Hilarie Burton says that actor Ben Affleck groped her while she was a host on MTV’s "Total Request Live" in 2003.

Burton made the claim Tuesday after a fan tweeted that Affleck perhaps should have “kept quiet” about the sexual harassment allegations around film producer Harvey Weinstein.

“[Affleck] also grabbed Hilarie Burton’s breasts on TRL once,” a second user tweeted, according to US Weekly. “Everyone forgot though.”

“I didn’t forget,” Burton responded.

“I’m so sorry that happened to you,” the Twitter user replied. “It’s infuriating that people never bring up all the gross, predatory things he’s done.”

“Seriously, thank you for that,” Burton said. “I was a kid.”

Burton’s fan added “I remember when that happened and never forgot about it. We see you.”

The actress then shared outtakes from "TRL" where she appeared to address the alleged situation with Affleck.

“[Affleck] comes over and tweaks my left boob,” she says in the old footage.

“How old are you – 19?” Affleck asks Burton in a separate clip from the outtakes.

“Girls. I’m so impressed with you brave ones,” Burton captioned the clip. “I had to laugh back then so I wouldn’t cry. Sending love.”

Some Twitter users on Wednesday expressed surprise at Burton’s claim that Affleck groped her when she was 21-years-old.

Affleck said in a statement Tuesday that he is “saddened and angry” about the accusations against Weinstein.

Actresses Angelina Jolie and Gwyneth Paltrow on Tuesday became the latest women accusing Weinstein of sexually harassing them in the past.

Multiple women have leveled similar accusations against Weinstein since The New York Times first published an expose on the matter last week.
