House Majority Whip Steve Scalise threw out the first pitch before Game 1 of the NL Division Series between the Washington Nationals and Chicago Cubs on Friday night.
Scalise returned to Congress last week, more than three months after being shot at an Alexandria, Virginia, baseball field while practicing for the the annual Congressional Baseball Game.
On Friday night, the Louisiana Republican used a walker and crutch to stabilize himself before throwing the baseball to U.S. Capitol Police officer David Bailey, who was also injured in the June shooting.

"What a memorable birthday!" the 52-year-old Congressman tweeted. "I threw the first pitch at tonight's @Nationals vs. @Cubs#NLDS game!"
Scalise and Bailey were just two of the four people injured when 66-year-old James Thomas Hodgkinson opened fire at the practice. Hodgkinson was shot and killed by police who responded to the incident.
The other victims, Zack Barth and Matt Mika, were also honored after the first pitch.
