Hip-hop legend Darryl "DMC" McDaniels is reveling in being a multi-hyphenate these days... having added comic book creator and superhero to the mix.
Darryl Makes Comics is McDaniels' own publishing imprint, which chose New York Comic Con to release DMC#3 to DMC's legion of fans. DMC#1, a 90-page graphic novel, introduces McDaniels as a crime fighting superhero, in a seemingly 80s world, fighting for the lives of the innocent. Each issue has introduced a new hero, each one teaming up with DMC to join the battle for good.
It didn't take long for the comic community to welcome both McDaniels and DMC the comic into their family. From the very first issue, DMC the comic has garnered favorable reviews and McDaniels and his editorial team continue to draw some of the biggest talents in the industry to be part of their series.
We were lucky to talk to McDaniels just as he arrived on Artist's Alley at NYCC, and, within seconds of his arrival, just to get a moment with the hip-hip hero and would be conqueror of the comic book world, everyone was, yes, walking his way.
