NYCC 2017: Screen Junkies' Hal Rudnick wants a Tarantino-led 'Star Wars' film

Hal Rudnick is hilarious. And, we had a really good time talking with him about what a good time he is having at New York Comic Con.

We discussed some of Rudnick's favorite movie stories of the year... not the stories movies are made of, but tales about the how and why movies are made. It didn't take long for him to praise Jordan Peele's directorial debut and juggernaut of a hit, "Get Out."

"Get Out," however, isn't Rudnick's favorite film of the year. The year isn't quite over so there's room for revision, but Rudnick's praise for "Logan" is massive... and he hopes the film making style of that film is the future of superhero movies.

And, finally, in a hilarious riff, Rudnick contemplates some dream directors for future films in the Star Wars franchise. Claiming that choosing Ron Howard to take over direction of the new Han Solo film is safe choice, he wonders out loud what Star Wars would look like under the guidance of directors like Quentin Tarantino, Guillermo del Toro, and even Sophia Coppola.
