Hugh Hefner died of cardiac arrest


Playboy mogul Hugh Hefner died after experiencing a cardiac arrest, respiratory failure after suffering with a recent bout of E. coli, according to our affiliate WJLA.

The celebrity news site reports Hefner's death certificate lists the ailments, noting his E. Coli issue was "resistant to antibiotics," The Blast reported.

Hefner's estate previously stated he died Sept. 27 of natural causes at his home in Los Angeles.

Hefner died at the age of 91 and is most known for founding the entertainment magazine "Playboy."
