So, is New York Comic Con just the scoffed at, illegitimate step-child of the super cool San Diego Comic Con? The quick answer to that is, "no."
(In fact, the two Comic Con's aren't even related. They're independently owned by two separate companies.)
Since 2006, New York Comic Con has been steadily growing, both in the number of stars & exhibits it features and in the number of fans clamoring to get in. In 2016, NYCC attracted a reported 180,000 guests and featured talks with Carrie Fisher, Stan Lee and cast members from "Game of Thrones."
NYCC 2017 promises more big names and, for good or bad, bigger crowds. Big guests this year include Mark Hamill.
John Boyega (there to promote "Pacific Rim: Uprising, not a Star Wars project)
Dan Harmon (of "Rick & Morty" fame),
Seth Rogan, Josh Hutcherson,
Comic Con constant Kevin Smith,
and the casts of "The Walking Dead,"
"Animaniacs," (not an official Instagram acct, btw)
and much, much more.
Circa will be on the floor covering it all... all the best of comics, graphic novels, anime, toys, video games, television and film.
