There was another mass shooting this weekend. It happened in Kansas.

There were two mass shootings on Sunday; one in Lawrence, Kansas, followed by a second in in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Lawrence police reported hearing multiple gunshots at 1:40 a.m on Sunday. When officers approached the scene there were several victims suffering gunshot wounds, three died, and two were taken to the hospital and were treated for non-life threatening injuries.

The victims fatally injured have been identified as Leah Elizabeth Brown, Colwin Lynn Henderson, and Tremel Dupree Dean. University spokeswoman Erinn Barcomb-Peterson said none of the victims were students at KU.

Brown's friend, Courtney Michelle Germany, was with her at the time of the shooting and posted this to her Facebook:

The shots rang out on Massachusetts Street, a popular area in the University of Kansas college town. Reports say the streets were crowded, concerts that had just let out and it was the same night as the University of Kansas basketball team's annual celebration Late Night in the Phog.

Lawrence police have still not identified the shooter, but said the incident "stemmed from a physical altercation" on Twitter. They are asking that anyone who witnessed any fights in the area contact the police at (785)832-7509.
