There’s stand-up comedy, and then there’s Nemr.

The 34-year-old Lebanese immigrant, who’s credited with establishing and pioneering the stand-up comedy scene in the Middle East, is taking his message of acceptance worldwide with a Showtime special designed to showcase how comedy can unite people of all cultural backgrounds.

Nemr stopped by Circa Pop Live to talk about his new stand-up special, ‘No Bombing in Beirut,’ that’s shot in a very unique way. The special cuts between two shows: one in Beirut in Lebanon, and one in Los Angeles. Nemr says this is to show the similarities between cultures, particularly to prove "the world is a lot closer than people think."

Check out the video above to find out a bit about Nemr's philosophy on comedy, and be sure to watch his new stand-up special on Showtime Oct. 7 at 11 p.m. PST/EST.
