The recent hurricanes have cost Southwest Airlines $100 million in revenue

Southwest Airlines said on Thursday that Hurricanes Harvey, Irma, and Maria will cost the airline $100 million in revenue.

Southwest had to cancel 5,000 flights through Wednesday due to the severe hurricanes, according to CNN. The airline still hasn't restored full service to Puerto Rico and other Caribbean islands.

Other airlines such as American, United and Delta have canceled flights due to the hurricanes. However, the companies did not disclose how much that will cost them.

As Southwest tries to restore their full service to Puerto Rico, thousands of passengers remain stuck in Puerto Rico's airports waiting to get a flight out of the island.

Doris Montalvo, 54, told CNN that she had driven from the other side of the island because their flight there was canceled.

"We just want to get home and get back to our routines, our lives," Montalvo said. "I don't feel safe here. ... I don't want (my grandchildren) to sleep on the sidewalk."
