Megyn Kelly said Monday that she's "done with politics for now" as she made her debut as an NBC morning TV host.
"The truth is, I’m kind of done with politics for now," the former Fox News Channel anchor said on "Megyn Kelly Today."
"You know why, right? We all felt it, it’s everywhere. And it’s just gotten so dark."
President Trump, then a candidate for the 2016 Republican nomination, famously turned on Kelly after she asked tough questions during a presidential debate.
"You could see there was blood coming out of her eyes," Trump told CNN at the time. "Blood coming out of her wherever."
Kelly joked at the beginning of her show that "we’ll be dissecting the latest tweet from President Trump."
She said she wants her viewers "to have a laugh with us, a smile, sometimes a tear and maybe a little hope to start your day."
Some on social media found Kelly's claim that she's "done with politics" interesting.
