'American Vandal' star Tyler Alvarez watches Netflix on his phone too

0

Like hanging toilet paper over/under, or putting pineapple on a pizza, whether or not it's ok to watch Netflix on your phone is one of the greatest debates in American history.

In all seriousness, I've lost friends over this, so I’ll try to keep my soapbox stowed away for the remainder of this article…but watching "House of Cards" on your phone is reprehensible. Ok, I’m done.

Just about the only person whose opinion I’m willing to hear on the subject is an actual Netflix actor, so guess what we asked "American Vandal" star Tyler Alvarez when he stopped by Circa’s daily live Facebook show, Circa Pop Live.

Responding to Netflix’s endeavor to raise the mobile viewing experience by adding new HDR support for the next generation of iPhones, Tyler said:

“I think it’s good, because as a New Yorker I’d always be on the subways and I’d be sitting there for like 40 minutes on the subway [with] nothing to do, but now I can watch a show.”

Sorry Tyler, we can’t be friends.

But the Netflix star, whose new true-crime mockumentary follows the aftermath of a high school prank, did go on to say that mobile viewing could cheapen the experience.

As our phones get better and better, it’s impossible to deny that most video content is being consumed on a phone, so props to Netflix for trying to raise the bar.
