Charlottesville holds unity concert

Updated September 24, 2017 06:50 PM EDT

Charlottesville is holding a concert to raise money for charity and to promote unity following the violent clashes at a white nationalist rally.

The concert on Sunday will feature acts from artists such as Dave Matthews Band, Justin Timberlake, Pharrell Williams and Ariana Grande.

The concert attendees are encouraged to donate money to a charity fund that will help victims of the August violence, according to The Associated Press.

In August, White nationalists protested the removal of a Robert E. Lee statue in Charlottesville, Virginia. The protests turned after a man intentionally plowed into a group of counter-protesters, killing 32-year-old Heather Heyer and injuring several others.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
