While recovering from heart transplant surgery, this woman buried her old heart under a tree

Israeli artist Sharon Fidel celebrated her heart transplant by burying her old heart under a tree.

After suffering from heart problems for more than a decade, Fidel’s doctor told her she needed a heart transplant and placed her on the urgent need list for a donor.

In 2016 the family of a 16-year-old boy who died in a traffic accident agreed to donate his heart to save the 46--year-old’s life.

Three months after surgery, Fidel drove to a remote area in Israel, to mark the occasion, played music from "The Love Boat" and held a burial for her old heart.

She posted video of the emotional ceremony on Facebook with the message, "Thank you, beloved, loveable, man who saved my life."
