This New Jersey store has all the survival items one would need for the end of the world... which is supposedly happening Saturday, Sept. 23.
The owner of a survivalist store in New Jersey said his business is seeing a spike in sales amid heightened tensions with North Korea.
Frank DeMaio, owner of Get Out Safe in Whippany, New Jersey, told WPIX that a family of seven from Ohio recently purchased $4,000 worth of survival supplies.
People are "scared and they don't know what this North Korean guy (Kim Jong Un) is capable of doing," DeMaio said.
Get Out Safe is a "family owned preparedness store that specializes in Survival Gear, Emergency Readiness, Home & Office Sustainment Kits and Tactical Supply," according to its website.
The store sells items including freeze-dried food, multigallon water purification tanks, protective masks and iodide potassium pills, which protect against radiation.
"We truly believe that with our kits and your common sense, the odds of survival will be in your favor," the site tells customers.
