William James Murray turns 67 on September 21, 2017. We came up with a bunch of reasons why he's one of the coolest men on Earth.
For instance, on the set of "Saturday Night Live," when Chevy Chase came back to host the show during its second season, Murray and Chase ended up in fisticuffs. They're both notorious bad boys, so that's not really shocking. Nor is it shocking they eventually made up and made "Caddyshack" several years later.
And Murray has been showered with awards throughout his career, culminating in his Golden Globe win for his role in "Lost in Translation." Murray has said that film is his favorite of all the films he's appeared in. He was nominated for an Academy Award for that performance as well.
He's also the recipient of the Kennedy Center's prestigious Mark Twain Prize for American Humor. Other recipients of that honor include Carol Burnett, George Carlin, Richard Pryor, Steve Martin, Billy Crystal, Ellen DeGeneres and Whoopi Goldberg.
And, did you know that with his brothers, he owns a golf-themed restaurant near St. Augustine, Florida, called Murray Bros. Caddyshack? The restaurant's perfect motto? "Eat, Drink and Be Murray." And that's exactly what we expect him to be doing on his birthday.
Have a great one, Bill Murray.
