Chipotle's new queso is terrible because customers want it both ways



Alright. Listen up Chipotle lovers. You guys can't have it both ways when it comes to queso. You just can't.

Recently, the popular Tex-Mex fast casual dining chain released its long awaited queso to some less than positive reviews. Loads of people on social media and Yelp have been less than impressed with what many consider to be a staple of cuisine.

Here's the thing, Chipotle knew you all were going to hate it. Why is that? Well, it's because customers all desperately want their food to be cooked with healthy ingredients, but they also want authentic queso.

Here's the problem. Authentic queso is not natural, or healthy. That genuine queso the younger crowd is craving? it requires processed cheese. Food historians have noted that the classic recipe for queso is essentially just melted Velveeta.

Chipotle knew customers would probably hate it, but it tried to create healthy queso anyways, formulating a recipe that includes tapioca and potato starches.

So if you want legit queso, you gotta make a choice: natural or authentic? In the case of queso, you can't have it both ways.
