Rapper Action Bronson has been working around food for most of his life. It's only recently that he's taken to writing about it. His new cookbook/memoir is called "Fuck, That's Delicious," the same name as his show online where he sets out to find the best food around. You should have seen the looks I was getting reading this in public, loudly laughing at his stories in a bar and constantly repeating "MMMMMMMmmm" while on the train.
Bronson's BFF, Mario Batali, crashed our recent interview with him recently but was able to talk about writing the forward for Bronson's new book. Batali says that first thing that drew him to want to know Bronson was that he was just so nice. The second was his intense culinary curiosity.
He loved talking about writing the book and about his ambition to write ten more. However, that cordiality fades just a bit when you ask him to choose between making music and making food. He won't choose.
When asked what their favorite parts of the book are, Bronson says Batali's foreword, but Batali says one of the first recipes in the book, a simple bagel, scooped out and filled with cheese. And, yeah, that's one of my favorite parts, too. It's already a staple in my house.
