Miami-Dade police arrested 28 people for looting in the wake of Hurricane Irma

The wrath of Hurricane Irma isn’t even a day in the books and looters have taken to the streets to add insult to injury.

In Miami-Dade alone, police have arrested 28 people for burglary and looting, our affiliate WPEC reported.

“We have made numerous arrests for looting,” MDPD said on social media. “We’re on patrol and won’t tolerate criminal activity as our community recovers from Hurricane Irma.”

Numerous municipalities and counties have set up curfews just to avoid this very situation.

In the city of Miami, officers also made several looting arrests.

The curfew in Miami-Dade extended to 7 a.m. Monday morning.
