What started as a fun dress-up photo shoot between brothers has now become a full-fledged viral phenomenon--17-year-old Eagan Tilghman's photos of his younger brother dressed up like the IT clown have been published and shared by dozens of media outlets, and he is trying to get himself and his brother onto The Ellen Show.
An adaptation of IT, Stephen King's 1100 page horror classic, opens in theaters this weekend, and Tilghman's pics are feeding a rapacious fan-base. Similar bursts of excitement are happening around the country. In LA, artists crafted homages to the frightening clown, and in Pennsylvania police departments responded to complaints of creepily placed red balloons.
Here is a before and after look of Tilghman's 3-year-old brother, Louie.
[My brother] wasn’t scared at all! He loves Pennywise, but he doesn’t know who he is of course. Only what he looks like.
Tilghman's takes photography seriously, and identifies as an artist. Here is a sketch he made of the IT clown.
