Hulu and Spotify just launched a $5 deal for college students

Hulu and Spotify have joined forces to offer college students a new streaming service for only $4.99 per month.

Their new streaming service will offer Spotify's unlimited music and Hulu's streaming video content in just one single subscription. Students who already have a Spotify account will now be able to access Hulu immediately, once they validate their subscription.

This is Spotify's first partnership. The company has up to 50 million paid subscribers, Forbes reported. The partnership between Spotify and Hulu comes amid a wave of companies partnering together to offer more services such as T-Moble and Netflix.

The new deal is only available for undergraduates attending universities or colleges in the U.S.

Some think it will be another distraction.

Others are disappointed that they cannot participate in the deal.
