Luke Bryan is a country music mega-star. It's crazy to think this CMA Entertainer of Year who has performed at the Super Bowl, sold out stadiums and was even brought in to help coach Blake Shelton's team on NBC's The Voice, has a true anxiety when it comes to texting. Circa News sat down with Bryan at the Jones Beach Theater stop on his Huntin', Fishin' and Lovin' Everyday tour to get the scoop on his new single, "Light It Up" -- the first single off of his album due out later this year.
What's going on our phones dictates our mood a lot.
Bryan is not ashamed to admit his phone obsession, something that I think most of us can relate to. Those times when fighting with a loved one and just waiting for them to answer you is probably one of the more unsettling feelings, especially for Bryan being on the road so much. When writing music, he always makes sure it's something he would want to listen to. The musicality and lyrics definitely hit home to many of us as it truly captures young turmoil.
If you haven't heard the song yet, check out this clip from Bryan's first live performance of "Light It Up" on the "Bobby Bones Show."
And before we left him, we had to ask what was the last text he received from his wife. He couldn't exactly tell us word for word what is was (mmhmmm), but it was clear they both have a case of good old FOMO -- which Bryan learned the meaning of for the first time and may have inspired his next hit song.
We have not had an album from Bryan since 2015's Kill The Lights, but this single is a clear sign we have a sixth studio album on its way and we can not wait.
