Dozens of items linked to Princess Diana have hit the auction block

Dozens of items directly connected to the late Princess Diana are up for sale by the Boston-based RR Auction.

"She still resonates all over the world," said RR Executive Vice President Bobby Livingston.

The Princess Diana Tribute Auction will feature 79 items including articles of clothing, jewelry, signed papers and photographs, and even to a piece of her wedding cake. RR Auction said it will also include some items Diana donated to charity auctions just months before her death on Aug. 31, 1997, at age 36.

RR Auction said the most sought after item will likely be a satin-lined, silver jeweled evening bag that comes with a letter confirming its authenticity. It's expected to sell for more than $15,000.

A 17-inch silver necklace with a capital "D" charm that Diana wore as a teen is expected to sell for at least $2,000.

Online bidding will end Sept. 13.
