A Humble, Texas homeowner returning to his home after Hurricane Harvey was shocked to discover a scaly squatter had taken up residence while they were away, according to our local affiliate WJLA. Brian Foster found a 9-foot alligator in his dining room Friday morning and promptly called authorities.
"I walked through the house and was looking at demo-ing the house, when I turned around and walked back through my dining room. I looked down, and there was a 10-foot alligator in my dining room," Foster told KTRK.
Wildernex Wildlife Control captured the gator on Friday and returned it to its natural habitat.
Foster isn't the only homeowner who has unwanted visitors. Lily Thien of Missouri City, posted a video on Facebook of alligators in her flooded backyard.
Texas officials are cautioning residents to look out for alligators following reports that the animals are moving to higher ground due to Hurricane Harvey.
