Serena Williams gave birth to a baby girl

Serena Williams gave birth to a 6-pound, 13-ounce baby girl on Friday, ESPN reported. The tennis super star had the baby in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Venus Williams told reporters, "Obviously I'm super excited. Words can't describe."

US Open Tennis congratulated Williams on Twitter.

Serena announced in April that she and fiancé Alexis Ohanian were expecting their first child after posting a selfie on Snapchat with the caption “20 weeks.”

Williams allegedly learned that she was pregnant days before she won her 23rd Grand Slam singles title at the Australian Open.
