On Sunday the carnage of Hurricane Harvey extended to Beaumont, Texas, where the town was overwhelmed by water in mere hours, our affiliate KDFM reports.
Raj Patel witnessed as his hotel lobby was flooded in the span of 30 minutes and guests were forced to move to the second floor.

Beaumont, along with Lake Charles, Louisiana, are now sustaining some of the heaviest bands of rainfall, as Hurricane Harvey continues to batter the entire region. Residents leaving Beaumont join the 30,000 other displaced residents who have left their homes because of the storm.
Texas Gov. Greg Abbott has employed the entire Texas National Guard as shelter populations are expected to continue to swell in the coming days.
