Chelsea Clinton defended Barron Trump amid criticism from a conservative website

Former first daughter Chelsea Clinton on Monday defended President Trump’s son after a conservative website criticized his appearance.

The Daily Caller on Monday published an article attacking Barron Trump, 11, for the clothing he wears as the son of America’s president.

“I’ve been on the Barron Trump train from the start, but it’s about time the president’s son starts dressing the part,” Daily Caller entertainment reporter Ford Springer wrote.

“Barron was returning to the White House from New Jersey on Sunday and while the president and first lady traveled in their Sunday best, young Barron looked like he was hopping on Air Force One for a trip to the movie theater,” he added.

“The youngest Trump doesn’t have any responsibilities as the president’s son, but the least he could do is dress the part when he steps out in public.”

Barron Trump is President Trump’s only child with Melania Trump, who is a former fashion model and the nation’s current first lady.

Springer said that President Trump, who is also a billionaire real estate tycoon, and his wife, typically dress elegantly.

“Donald Trump and Melania always depart the White House looking their best,” he said. “Barron doesn’t have to worry about all that, but he should.”

“His dad is always looking dapper, and his mom has become a worldwide fashion icon since becoming first lady.”

Chelsea Clinton was 13 when former President Bill Clinton, her father, entered the White House in 1993.

Hilary Clinton, who is Bill Clinton’s wife, lost the White House to Trump last year as the Democratic presidential nominee.

Chelsea Clinton also stuck up for Barron Trump in January, arguing two days after President Trump’s inauguration that he “deserves the chance every child does – to be a kid.”
