The New England Patriots gave Trump a commemorative Super Bowl ring after visiting the White House

New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft gave President Donald Trump a commemorative Super Bowl LI ring following the team's historic comeback against the Atlanta Falcons, according to USA Today.

Trump, who has been friends with Kraft for quite some time, told the Patriots he was honored that they were the first team to visit during his presidency.

And in addition to exchanging traditional gifts, Trump received a customized ring similar to the ones players and staff received following their Super Bowl victory, Patriots spokesman Stacey James told USA Today.

The league usually covers the cost of 150 rings, which can cost up to $7,000 each. USA Today reports that any extra rings are paid for by the team.

Now, Trump and Vladimir Putin have Super bowl bling.

Kraft famously and accidentally had one of his Super Bowl rings taken by Putin while visiting Russia in 2005. He reportedly showed Putin the ring and let him try it on. After that, Putin just kept it on and never returned it to Kraft.
