"Funny" isn't often a quality often associated with police in the United States. But someone at the Seattle Police Department has got comedy chops.
BuzzFeed reporter Dominic Holden tweeted at the force, asking whether or not they could confirm reports that InfoWars personality Alex Jones was on the streets of the city yelling at people. Seems fine enough, right?
Well, whoever's got the reins of the department's Twitter account came back with this beauty:
We haven't received any official reports. As far as we know that could be an actor playing Alex Jones.— Seattle Police Dept. (@SeattlePD) August 18, 2017
The account's response is a tongue in cheek criticism of Jones' assertions that the U.S. government sometimes employs actors to stage events that receive national attention, such as the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in 2012.
As you can probably guess, Twitter took notice.
