Meek Mill was reportedly arrested for with reckless endangerment on Thursday night for riding a dirt bike in New York City.
The 30-year-old rapper, whose real name is Robert Rihmeek Williams, was arrested around 10 p.m.local time at the corner of 10th avenue and Dyckman Street in New York, police said.
An NYPD spokesperson told NBC that they became aware of the incident after the rapper posted a Instagram video of himself riding the bike near the Inwood neighborhood.
Mill’s lawyer, Joseph Tacopina, told the New York Daily News that Mill was singled out because he is a celebrity.
“That level of investigation is normally reserved for heinous crimes, not petty offenses like doing a wheelie on the street where you’re endangering no one’s life but your own.”
The rapper is expected to perform on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon tonight.
