Tom Cruise's broken ankle has brought production for "Mission: Impossible 6" to a halt.
Cruise broke his ankle while performing a stunt for the film in London. In a video of the stunt, Cruise can be seen leaping to a building, hitting its side and then crawling over the top and running away. After completing the stunt, Cruise was visibly limping from his injury.
Paramount Studios released a statement Wednesday saying production will go on a hiatus while Cruise makes a full recovery.
"The film remains on schedule to open July 27, 2018," the release noted. "Tom wants to thank you all for your concern and support and can't wait to share the film with everyone next summer."
The 55-year-old actor is known for performing many of his own stunts.
