President Trump took to Twitter on Wednesday night to dismiss a golf.com report that he called the White House "a real dump" as "Fake News" and "TOTALLY UNTRUE."

President Trump told members of his New Jersey golf club that he spends so much time away from Washington because the "White House is a real dump," according to a report published Monday on golf.com.

"Chatting with some members before a recent round of golf, he explained his frequent appearances: 'That White House is a real dump,'" the report said.

Since taking office Trump has made four visits to his golf club in Bedminster, which he bought in 2002 for $35 million.

Trump has spent 21of his first 26 weekends in office at properties bearing his name, CNN reported. In addition, Trump has reportedly spent 40 days at Trump brand golf properties.

In the past Trump, criticized former President Obama for spending too much time playing golf.

The president has multiple golf properties around the world, including properties in Indonesia, Ireland, Dubai and Scotland.

The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment about the golf.com article.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
