Students are getting free haircuts at this barbershop for their first day of school

Students in Savannah, Georgia, don't have to worry about making a good first impression as a local barbershop is giving free haircuts to kids in kindergarten through Grade 12 to kick off the school year.

The Cut Barbershop in Savannah Mall gave haircuts to between 150 and 300 students on Saturday.

We're giving free haircuts so that when they go to school, they look good, they feel good, they perform well, because they're not worried about how they look.

The barbershop employees aren't the only ones pitching in to give students a smooth transition from summer to school.

Groups like Virginia College in Savannah helped out by providing free food and school supplies to children.

Kids who attend Chatham County public schools head off to their first day of classes on Thursday.
